YSL Volupté Tint-In-Oil

I love a new lipgloss! 

I picked up this little beauty on my way to Rome in Duty Free and I've not stopped using it since. 

For starters it smells divine! Surely I can't be the only person that judges a lipgloss by how it tastes/smells. 

Secondly the applicator is perfect! It's shaped perfectly to your lip which makes applying it simple. 

The colour is quite deceiving as it looks really light upon first application but once it sets the colour really pops! 

As it's an oil it's not sticky at all and it feels nourishing. 

Also once the sheen has wore off you're still left with a pretty colour on your lips! 

I'm obsessed with this and the package is lush too! 

It's £23.50 and it's available in 8 different colours! I opted for shade 6. Which is "Peach Me Love" but I would happily collect them all!

YSL - Fusion Ink Foundation

Is this really the latest foundation miracle? Can it really do all the things that it promises?

There was only one way to find out and that was to try it for myself.

I've worn this foundation for the last 4 days and not once in that period did I re-touch or re-apply the foundation as I wanted to see whether it delivered on the 24 hour wear promise.
I have combination skin and always wear a primer but Yves Saint Lauren say that you do not need a primer for this foundation (I have tried with both and I prefer it with a primer as it creates a smoother base to my skin) I also normally always wear a powder to set my foundation - which again YSL state is not needed with this product and in this instance they are right - I don't think any lady would consider adding a powder on top of this as the finish is already mattifying and there is really no need for the extra layer.

The Product

The packaging is to die for - it matches a YSL lip stain I have - it's sleek and stylish and not like any other foundation bottle I've seen before.
The consistency is very lightweight - If you have ever tried the Armani, Maestro foundation I would liken the texture to that, it feels as though you have nothing on but leaves a silky soft base.
The coverage is buildable without any caking at all to the skin and despite my oily t-zone it did not gather in places.
For anyone that is low maintenance when it comes to make up, this is perfect - I saved time not having to apply any powder to my face to set the foundation.
For me, matte coverage is my preference and this certainly evened out my skin with very little effort and no feel of make up what so ever - my only criticism would be that I felt it dulled my skin slightly so for anyone not looking for a completely matte look this foundation is not for you.

As I mentioned I did not touch up or re-apply this product and the staying power was amazing even through a gym and tennis workout.

At £30.50 the foundation is cheaper than the Armani - Maestro and if I am honest I prefer it, it's also available in a wide range of colours.

I received a 7 day sample of this foundation but I will be purchasing as I have never found a foundation that doesn't require me adding an extra layer of coverage before and for me that's a big draw.

Yves Saint Laurent SHOCKING Indecent Volume Mascara

This is only my second ever YSL mascara purchase... My first one was a few years ago and I opted for a purple one to bring out the green in my eyes...

     

When I saw this mascara with it's beautiful gold classic YSL packaging and the word SHOCKING plastered across the front I was immediately drawn in. Now it is a little pricey.... It's usually around £23-£25 depending on whether you catch promotions. 

I opted for 01 Deep Black - it is an intense black - it is a very black formula.. Some of the cheaper mascara's can appear a little grey after application but this one is black, black.

The formula itself is quite thick and a little gloopy - it coats your lashes quite heavily with one application which is good because if you try and apply a second coat be prepared for clumping and unnatural looking lashes! 

The Shocking mascara has a new brush compared to other YSL mascara's which is meant to increase the precision and improve application - did I notice all the science? No not really... Like I said it does offer a full coverage to your lashes in one application and that could be from the thickness of the product or from the brush... Let's give YSL credit here and say it's both :) 

What makes this formula "Indecent" well apart from clever marketing which makes it sound all very sexy... YSL state the formula contains two different types wax... One to maximise the thickness of your lashes and the other to create curve. This formula combined with the new brush is meant to give a false lash effect. 

 

Now whilst my lashes do appear thicker.. I want more from this product...more than the delicious packaging... More than a fancy fancy new brush... Especially at £25. It's not that I don't like this mascara but I do fear that even after the two weeks I've had it, it's at the early stages of clumping and drying it and also there isn't a great deal of length impact. 

Personally I find the Lancôme Hypnos and Benefit They're Real Mascara's much better value for money at the more premium end of the market. 

Sorry YSL, as beautiful as this looks ok my make up bag - this product isn't really for me...
